Now Commander Adama of the Battlestar Galatica and President Laura Roslin lead a ragtag fleet of refugees in a supposed search for the fabled lost thirteenth colony, Earth. However, the dangers they face are many, which compound an already difficult situation. In addition to the Cylons hunting and attacking the fleet in space and their infiltrator units carrying out sabotage–eventheir former unwitting pawn, Gaius Baltar, helps in the hunt for them while hiding both his own guilt and the strange presence that haunts his every thought–the fleet also faces internal political conflict in which the rabble-rousing figure Tom Zarek is merely the loudest dissenting voice, not to mention recurring shortages of food, water, and even oxygen. In the midst of these trials, however, clues begin to appear to suggest that Adama's bluff about finding Earth might hold more truth than anyone could have guessed.
When an old enemy, the Cylons, resurface and obliterate the 12 colonies, the crew of the aged Galactica protect a small civilian fleet - the last of humanity -they journey toward the fabled 13th colony, Earth.
I always like BSG, however the start of Season4 is quite bad in my opinion.<br/><br/>The part of starbuck 'feeling earth calling'-to her is very unreal and in my opinion very poorly played. The presidents' part is kinda getting boringwell - we can all see she and Adama have a 'thing'-going, however you can't see a damn thing happening. And she's becoming more and more like an evil leader instead of the good and nice woman she used to be. No problem if it fitted her and the place, but at this point it doesn't. Also the part of Dr. Gaius Baltar becoming a religious man is kind of an odd direction. However I really like Gaius and he acts it so well(his acting compensates for his bad written role; ex-scientist&president becomes religious man?). On the other hand, the part of the Cylons is just awesome written and really exciting. Thumbs up for that.<br/><br/>I would have given BSG a 10/10 at the end of season 3, however the poor start of season 4 costs 2 stars(mainly starbuck poor performances and crap storypart at this point). 8/10 For now. If it won't improve then I might even make it lower. But I think it can only improve now.
It is difficult for me not to look back at the original series! For that time the show was excellent! After having seen the first and second season of the new Battlestar Galactica I have to conclude that the original and the new one are completely different shows! You can't say that the one is better than the other. Both shows have their good aspects and bad ones! Probably the biggest difference is that the original series is more action based (and for that time) had a higher budget! And that the new one is more drama based! There are less space battles to be seen! I don't know if this is done on purpose or it has to do with the budget! But for me personally sometimes I expect to see something happen in space than hear about it! And what is up with the robot cylons,they look a bit fake to me! This however is not so much an issue because the drama is "bloody" good! Every episode has a plot that will get to you! You will actually care for the characters even for the human Cylons! The distinction between good and evil is not clear just like in real life! It becomes clear that not only Cylons are a threat to the people! Humans are even a bigger enemy to themselves! I do have detected some flaws in the plot and some subjects that are being discussed in the show but these can all be ignored since the show is very exciting and entertaining! I have seen the first two seasons and the cliffhanger endings from those two seasons are the most thrilling endings I have seen! After the first season matters get more complicated and you think that it cannot get any worse. The ending of the second season surprised me completely! Can't wait to see the next season!
